Steve D. Ruot, 75, of Moweaqua, died March 11, 2025, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
A private burial will take place at a later date in Westside Cemetery, Moweaqua. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025, in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, ALS Association, or a charity of your choice.
Steve was born on January 8, 1950, in Pana, IL, the son of Lyle E. and Frances Y. (Landers) Ruot. He married Kay West on September 21, 1985 in Moweaqua, IL. She survives.
Steve worked various jobs, but enjoyed being a mail carrier the most. He was a former Moweaqua Village Board Member as well as former Moweaqua Village Mayor. First and foremost, Steve loved his family. He loved coaching and playing softball, traveling with friends and family to Las Vegas and Tunica, MS, taking canoe and ski trips, visiting wineries, but most of all he loved to be a chauffeur and attend his grand
