Frank A. Compton March 10, 1928 - August 22, 2024 LAKEWOOD - Frank A. Compton, 96, of Lakewood, IL, passed away at 5:07 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2024, in HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital, Shelbyville, IL. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. A private family funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2024, with Pastor Satch Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to Shelbyville First United Methodist Church Food Pantry or the Shelby County Honor Guard. Frank was born on March 10, 1928, in Shelby County, IL, the son of Clyde A. and Clara (Oller) Compton. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1945 and was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. Frank married Juanita J. Sain on January 17, 1948, and they were blessed with 75 years of marriage and four sons. Frank was a grain and livestock farmer
