Nancy Catherine Oxley, 81, of Platteville, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2024, at home, with her devoted husband John by her side.
Nancy was born in Shelby County, Illinois, the daughter of Clinton and Catherine (Kearney) Wall. She was a 1961 graduate of Windsor High School. Nancy married John Oxley on June 6, 1965, in Windsor. She received her BS and MS in Education from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston; then taught typing, shorthand and was a guidance counselor in Illinois and Kentucky. Her hobbies included sewing, swimming, fishing with family in Chetek, Wisconsin and bargain hunting. Nancy was not one to complain and took life's tasks in stride, making lemonade out of lemons. After the death of her mother, Catherine, Nancy became active in a local cancer survivor support group "Make Today Count."
Nancy is survived by her husband of 59 years, John Oxley of Platteville, Wisconsin; daughter, Laura, a veterinarian in Madison, Wisconsin with her husband
