George Robert Wehner, 85, of Moweaqua, died April 22, 2024 in Moweaqua Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2024, in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Westside Cemetery, Moweaqua. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
George was born on March 3, 1939 in St. Louis, MO, the son of August and Virginia (Carr) Wehner. August passed and Virginia married Emil Selle, who raised George and his siblings, Nancy and Jim, as his own. George married Carolyn Sue Redmon on July 23, 1960 in Bloomfield, IA. She survives.
George joined the United States Army Reserve at age 17. He later joined the Army and served for twenty-two years, during this time he served two tours in Vietnam with the Big Red One and Tropic Lightning.
